Background

The British Government offers no funding for the purposes of home education. Thus, we home educators have to find our own money to buy resources. Although this is a problem for all of us, we manage somehow, simply because we are determined to home educate as we know it is the right choice for our children and, in fact, our whole families.

I began to work from home before we started a family, as I wanted to be with our children all the time once they were born. I prefer to work for myself but I always enjoyed working with my husband, and so Peter and I formed our first company based around the skills we were already using in our previous jobs.

I am not one of those types who make huge profits and move into a big house with enormous grounds. I was a high-powered businesswoman a number of years ago, and it didn't suit me at all.  Realistically, I obviously need some money to pay my bills, but I try to help people out whenever I can, especially my fellow home educators. I would like to encourage home educators to circulate money and other tangible resources around our community by offering products and services to each other, as well as friendship and support.

Car Stickers

This is a removable car sticker bearing the slogan "Home Educated Child On Board". The sticker is shown smaller than actual size (approx 19cmx9cm) and is priced at £2.50 each. Postage and Packing is included (UK only - overseas, please contact me for shipping costs).

This offer is available to everyone, and if you are a friend or relative of a new home educator, one of these can really help to show that you are supporting their decision.

I normally have t-shirts, posters, greetings cards, postcards, mouse mats and other items available, but I have had to stop publicising these for the time being, due to the fact that I can't keep up with demand! They will be available to order again as soon as I catch up!

Web Hosting

If you run a 'not for profit' website promoting home education in a positive way, you will most likely be eligible for my special web hosting offer.

Prices start at £5/month (including VAT), and the basic service will be more than sufficient for most domestic customers' needs. List servers, etc. can be added at extra cost.

In return for offering all this to you at cost price, all I ask is that you display a logo on your homepage to say that my company is hosting your site. No other advertisements will appear on your site (unless you arrange this yourself to generate an income).

Domain Registration and DNS Management

This offer is open to everyone. There are a number of further services that we also offer at reduced prices but we have to quote on them individually due to fluctuations in the marketplace. The company is an Internet Consultancy, so if there is anything at all you need, we can probably do it for you! Please contact me to further discuss this, or any other offer.

• Registering anything.uk (e.g. educationsense.org.uk, educationsense.co.uk) - £10 registration (covers two years domain rental as well)
• Registering anything.com, anything.net, anything.org (e.g. educationsense.com, etc.) - £25 registration (also covers two years rental)
• £10 for every set of DNS changes - in other words, the £10 is a flat fee so long as we're doing all the work at once, regardless of how much there is to do.
• We can also take over your DNS records if you are concerned about your home address being shown in the WHOIS database. Contact me for details.
