Educationsense Camp - Workshops, group talks, home education merchandise, and a lot of friends having fun!
The idea of the virtual Camp was that a member of your family checked to see what we were up to each day, and then you worked out something similar you could do together at home. Each day, I suggested some adapted activities you might want to try out with your family and friends. If you see something you like now, why not give it a go!

Tuesday

Magic Day!

It’s Magic Day!  You are invited, nay positively encouraged, to dress up in costume and prance around your neighbourhood, spreading magic and fun where'er you go!
10-11am
At the Camp: Morning Meeting
At Home: Why not have a family meeting to discuss what you're all going to do today?
11am-1pm

At the Camp: Craft Activities with Jenna
At Home: Jenna will be making "Magic Pictures".  There is a wealth of things to make on the Internet.  You could look for something with a search engine, or come up with your own ideas from scratch.
11am-1pm

At the Camp: Face Painting
At Home: You've got the outfit (you have got the outfit, haven't you?!), now complete the look by drawing all over yourself!
2-5pm

At the Camp: The Lord of the Rings with Lyn and Lucy
At Home: Draw a picture of your favourite character (a competition was held on the camp to draw 'Gollum' as the character hadn't been featured in the latest movies), read the best bits of the books, make your own maps of Frodo's journey and, if you haven't got a costume, make yourself some authentic hobbit feet!
7-8pm
At the Camp: Stories From Middle-Earth
At Home: Read a few chapters from the books with your family, or if you would prefer, make up your own stories inspired by the books.
8pm onwards
At the Camp: Middle-Earth Music
At Home: How do you think the music sounds in Middle-Earth?  Hum your own versions if you can't play an instrument.  If you have the soundtrack, you could always put it on the stereo if you want to have a 'lazy evening'.
Morse Code

Virtual Telegrams sent from those at home, to the campers in Magicland.

Post box

The attendees were able to send virtual Postcards from the real Camp to those joining us on the website from home.  Did they Wish You Were Here, or Wish They Were With You?!!

Newspaper

Sit down with a cup of herbal tea and read Tuesday's edition of The Magicland Gazette, our Camp newsletter.  It may be old news, but it's no fish and chips wrapper!

Isabel
Take a look at the pictures in The Gallery.  Nearly all of them were taken by the younger members of our community.

Comment of the Day
Lyn noted how widescreen televisions affect your perception of reality:

"I spotted Charlie Dimmock in Waitrose today.  She's much smaller in real life you know!"
