The idea of the virtual Camp was that a member
of your family checked to see what we were up to each day, and
then you worked out something
similar you could do together at home. Each day, I suggested some adapted activities you might want to try out with your family and friends. If you see something you
like now, why not give it a go!
Saturday
|
10-11am
|
At the Camp: Morning Meeting
At Home: Why not have a family meeting to discuss what you're
all going to do today?
|
|
11am-1pm
|
At the Camp: Dressing The Camp
At Home: Find some ribbons, old bit of wool, interesting
stones and anything you have around the house - go out and dress
your garden! If you don't have a garden, why not make your own
indoor garden, either with pot plants, or paper flowers. Dress
it all up and get into the festival groove! |
|
11am-1pm
|
At the Camp: Mushroom Walk with Claudia
At Home: While we're hunting for mushrooms, why not go
outside and look for acorns, etc.? Perhaps there are wild,
edible mushrooms growing in your area? Of course, if all else
fails, you're guaranteed to strike it lucky at Tesco!! |
|
11am-12pm
|
At the Camp: Tots Song and Dance
At Home: If you have a young child, you can join in with us
as we sing such jolly tunes as "The Wheels On The Bus". If
your children are older, see if they can remember what they used to
sing, and take a trip down memory lane. Ahhh... |
|
12-1pm
|
At the Camp: Face Painting
At Home: Oh, come now. You know you want to be a
Magical Spider Fairy Princess! Well, Susie did, the last time
I painted her face. She told me she wants to be an elephant
today. That'll be a tricky one to pull off!
|
|
2-4pm
|
At the Camp: Beginners Music Workshop
with The Minstrel
At Home: Dust off your musical instruments and make music
with your family. If anyone is a bit rusty or needs some
guidance to start from scratch, feel free to send Peter a virtual
Telegram, and he'll get back to you as soon as he can. Of
course, seeing as we are now on 'Camp Time', this could out to be
some time next week!
|
|
4-5pm
|
At the Camp: Performing Non-Boring with
Wendy
At Home: This workshop is simply about finding ways of doing
things differently - to add interest by doing something unexpected.
Pick a normal household task, and find a way of amusing your family
as you do it. Will you sweep the walls and dust the floor?
Would anyone notice?!!
|
|
7-8pm
|
At the Camp: Story Time
At Home: Read a story to your children or, better still make one up between you. If the inspiration doesn't come, remember a great day you had together, or talk about life when they were babies.
|
|
8pm onwards |
At the Camp: Words and Music
At Home: Spend a quality evening with your family. Put the world to rights, preferably to the sound of your favourite tunes, and annoy the neighbours with your musical instruments!

The attendees were able to send
virtual
Postcards from the real Camp to those joining us on the website from home. Did they Wish You Were Here, or
Wish They Were With You?!!

Sit down with a cup of herbal tea and read
Saturday's edition of
The
Magicland Gazette, our Camp newsletter. It may be old news,
but it's no fish and chips wrapper!

Take a look at the pictures in The Gallery. Nearly all
of them were taken by the younger members of our community.
Claudia to Wendy (who had just been asked to
teach Claudia's son to play the drum):
"Peter's
the musical one, isn't he Wendy?"
