The Educationsense Gathering 2002 Gallery - See who did what and where!
Take Some Glue...  Buffy turned up with some glue and stuff then walked off to let the children conduct a spontaneous collage workshop. I now have the fantastic result at home.

"Is That The Emergency Services?"  Maria re-enacts the call she made when she was alone at home with her father, who was suffering from a severe head wound. Although there was a serious message, the workshop was an absolute hoot, with Maria's mum frequently complaining of injuries that needed to be treated. By the end of the workshop, there was a lot of fake blood around and about!
Beat That Drum!   This lad was one of my music workshop attendees. Most of them found my djembe the easiest to play, so I guess I'll be picking up more at some point...!

How Do You 'Doo?  Conversely, these two gentlemen didn't turn up to the music workshops, and stand a better chance of getting a note out of that beer bottle! <hearty chuckle>
A Little Bit Crafty...!  This young lady has clearly been to one of Jenna's excellent workshops. Jenna produced several craft workshops throughout the week - this is a Mexican handicraft known as an 'Eye of God'.

"Is This How You Do It?"  More children making 'Eyes of God'.
Potty Punters  There's Lyn in the background, surveying her wonderful Harry Potter workshop. She spent so many months organising her workshops that they couldn't be anything other than rip-roaring successes. My pointy hat is off to her!

So Much To Do!  Lyn was still working on those black hats on the morning of the workshop, so that the children could decorate them later. The wands were made by a carpenter following Lyn's version of the Harry Potter design, and she also provided Hogwarts headed paper and feather quills with which the children could write authentic letters.
"I Did This!"  The 'other' Lyn, my friend on the bus, decided to run a spontaneous tie-dye workshop one morning. Here's Jenna, taking a well-earned break from her own workshops to see what's going on. She can't resist having a go, though, and this is why her hands were blue for the next few days!

Seeing Spots  This young lady made me chuckle on a daily basis. Here, she's been rather clever with her hands, having knotted the string in just the right places to create this tie-dyed spot design.
Middle-Earth Folk  On the Wednesday, we were invaded by dragons, fairy queens, hobbits and warriors for Magic Day. Lyn let her hair down, and you can also see her daughter, Lucy, wearing her 'Hobbit clothes' at the back, to the left.

"This Is Frodo's Journey..."  The Lord Of The Rings workshop was as magical as you would imagine, not just because of the costumes, but also due to the fact that Lyn has the most perfect, gentle manner with which she brings the stories to life.

Lyn drew representations of each of the main characters for the children to colour, they filled in Frodo's journey on maps she had prepared and there were so many books and posters to see, music to listen to, and much more, that I have asked her to come back and do it all again at next year's Camp.
"A Little More Paint..."  Here's my elder daughter, Susie, painting her lantern, in readiness for The Home Educators' Parade In The Dark.

"You Do It Like This"  Susie shows June's middle daughter how she painted all around her lantern.
"Can I Have A Go?"  June tries to contain the mess (with no hope of succeeding!) as her youngest one has a go...!

"Hee Hee! I've Stolen The Paint!"  My younger daughter, Isabel, has a knack for getting messy.
Carefully Measure The Ingredients...  This is June's Kitchen Science Experiments workshop.

"Is It Ready Yet?"  June watches as Helen mixes something for her eldest daughter. But what are they making?
Flubber!  It's Flubber! Luvverly Flubber! June's been at the food colouring to dye some red, but, hey, we can cope with all colours of Flubber!

Acid or Alkali?  June also provided a pH experiment to try out...
Flubber!  ...But then there was Flubber! Luvverly, jubberly, Flubber! You can knead it, bounce it, stretch it! Go on, make some!

Inky Spectrum  June provided a Chromatography Experiment too, but there was still - wait for it...
Flubber!  Luvverly, jubberly, wobberly Flubber! Arrgh! I can't stand the excitement!

Flubber!  The children can't get enough of it!
Flubber!  The adults can't get enough of it!

"We Love Flubber!"  Enough said on the subject, methinks...
