The Educationsense Gathering 2002 Gallery - See who did what and where!
Apologies for the quality of the images on this page, but they were all taken at night.
"Look What I've Made!" We all made some lanterns out of old bottles and decorated them using
glitter, paint and tissue paper. (If you would like to make an Educationsense Lantern,
let me know and I'll put the instructions on the website.) Once it was dark outside, it was time to light our lanterns... |

"Don't Forget Me!" How could we?!! We needed all the craziest, nosiest people for the next job! Have you guessed what we're up to yet?
Very nice lantern, by the way... |
"This Way - And Don't Forget To Shout!" The families form a procession outside the marquee, and we start walking across the field... |

"But Where Are We Going??" Well, we've spent a whole week celebrating home education in our own camp, it would be a shame not to let the rest of the campsite know about it!
Oh, and yes - that's me in the turquoise top. |
Here Comes The Minstrel Along the way, we had Peter playing the flute, Claudia's daughter playing the drum and numerous babies and toddlers shaking
bells and rattles. It was very noisy! The rest of us were marching around, chanting, "WE DON'T GO TO SCHOOL!" The regular campers came out
of their tents and caravans to see what the noise was, and then they appeared quite bewildered as we did a circuit round them and back to our field. Next morning, quite a few of them
came to ask for more information. Now, that's what I call a result! |

|
"Right, We're Off!" Campers went back to their usual activities as the home educators disappeared into the night.
As you might expect, the sound took a little longer to
melt away with them! |
"Didn't We Do Well?!" June's middle daughter and Claudia's son come back to the cafe for one of Buffy's pancakes and some other goodies.
The dots of light in the background are lanterns being carried by yet
more people. It was a fantastic sight to behold, let alone hear! |

Shake, Baby Shake Claudia
and June arrive back at the café with
their children, but June's youngest daughter can't stop shaking her
bells. It's just too much fun! |
"Where's everyone going?" No
more time for shouting now, when there are good pancakes waiting to be
eaten! Buffy made two varieties of batter mix, catering for just
about all kinds of diet. Despite the fact that some folk had
more than half a dozen pancakes, there were still people asking for
more ('sevenths', 'eighths') when the batter mix ran out! Yes,
Buffy will be invited to attend next year's camp too! |
