The Educationsense Gathering 2002 Gallery - See who did what and where!
Be Careful What You Wish For!  Jackie and Bob were supposed to be celebrating their twentieth wedding anniversary in Paris...

...But ended up at the Camp instead! Shan, half-joking, offered to do a Handfasting for the couple, and they loved the idea. So, within a few hours, we had found some wonderful things around the site with which we could decorate the Sacred Garden.  There were also the four elements...

Earth  A piece of driftwood, a green blanket and a scarf accompanied some precious belongings to represent the earth element.
Air  A branch, a feather, and some more items found in the tents of the camp attendees wafted in the gentle breeze.  It was a beautiful day with blue skies and sunshine.

Fire  Red blankets, a lantern, a candle, one of Lyn's Harry Potter wands and my Celtic Fairy, lovingly made by a dear friend, represented fire.
Water  A blue beach towel, a bowl of fresh water and various shells represented the water element.

We were all invited to stand next to the element representing our astrological star signs and so, being a Pisces, this is where I stood.

Light and Love  Like most of the attendees, I hadn't seen a Handfasting before. Even though the ceremony was relatively short, it was a wonderful, powerful, moving experience.

Here are Jackie and Bob with Shan, the fantastic priestess whose generosity and kindness made this all possible. I never expected anything as fantastic as this to happen at my camp, but I would like to thank Shan, Jackie and Bob for sharing the moment with us.

There were a lot of people wearing Shan's red ochre after the ceremony - some wore it because it meant something to them, some wore it because it was fun, and some wore it because Shan had hugged and kissed them!!
