Educationsense Camp - "Comment of the Day"

Comment of the Day

Before the camp started...

Wendy said:

"What day is it? Oh! I'm supposed to be doing a camp in a few days!"

Day 1...

Claudia to Wendy (who had just been asked to teach Claudia's son to play the drum):

"Peter's the musical one, isn't he Wendy?"

Day 2...

A member of the public came to the gate and read our poster, which explains that we are home educators running a camp together. He turned to Wendy and said:

"So none of your children go to school? How do they get to socialise?"

Day 3...

An unnamed parent said:

"I desperately need the toilet, but I'm too interested in what's going on!"

Day 4...

Lyn noted how widescreen televisions affect your perception of reality:

"I spotted Charlie Dimmock in Waitrose today.  She's much smaller in real life you know!"

Day 5...

Shan had covered herself in red ochre to perform the Handfasting ceremony and was due to leave shortly afterwards.  An onlooker said:

"I think there are lots of people here who would have given Shan a goodbye hug, but most of us were wearing light colours and don't have a change of clothes!"

Day 6...

Actually, this is probably the Comment of the Week as it was repeated by a certain little girl every day.  When all the workshops were in progress, when music was being played, when people became too absorbed in deep conversation, Pagyn brought everyone back down to earth by letting them know that the best things in life are free (chuckle):

"Boobie!  Boobie!"
